My name's Shan and I'm the CEO of The Bee Malaysia. Our story? Let's take it back to 2016 where I was lost and confused, but hopeful for something more.
I was a Graphic Designer for a leading Advertising agency here in Malaysia. Getting there surely was tough but once I was there, I slowly began to wonder if I made the right choice. The environment was great and I enjoyed what I was doing but when adult life knocks on your door, comes financial limitations and other miscellaneous responsibilities. I found myself trapped in this time warp, a never ending cycle of routine where I felt more challenged than rewarded. Alas, I slowly lost that passion i once treasured.
After 2 short years, I decided to quit and journey into a completely new path. It was scary and nerve-racking, but something felt right so I decided to take the leap of faith. You know what? I'm glad I did! Heck, I'm so proud I did. Being a Life Planner fo AIA has opened doors for me I never even knew existed. It gave me complete control of my own life; my time away from home, my family, my money and my priorities.
I got to achieve something that would have taken decades had I gone with the traditional path. I got financial and creative freedom from just a few years as a Life Planner and now I own an agency of my own where I get to share this journey with like-minded people who share the same dream.
The most rewarding part about my job is I get to make money while helping people everyday. The people I've met and the connections I've made has helped shaped me into a better version of myself for others and now I get to give back to society.
Of course it is not smooth sailing and countless obstacles are bound to be on the road but with my team, I'm not afraid. I'm excited for the challenges to come because I know my team and I have got what it takes. The question now is, do you?
