Berdasarkan surat keputusan Rektor Universitas Brawijaya Nomor 196/SK/2003 tentang pemberhentian dan pengangkatan/pengangkatan kembali kepala laboratorium Fakultas Teknik periode 2003-2007 dan atas surat usulan Dekan nomor 1536/J10.1.31/KP/2003 tanggal 13 Agustus 2003 serta atas usulan Ketua Jurusan Teknik Mesin dalam surat nomor 219/J10.1.31/AK/2003 tanggal 12 Juni 2003, Studio Perancangan dan Rekayasa Sistem resmi berdiri diketuai oleh Moch. Agus Choiron, ST., MT. dan wakil ketua laboratorium adalah Ir. Suharto, MT
Kepala Studio Perancangan dan Rekayasa Sistem periode 2003-2007 dipegang oleh Moch. Agus Choiron, ST., MT. Untuk periode 2008-2011 Kepala Studio dipegang oleh Ir. Erwin Sulistyo, MT. sekaligus menjabat sebgai Kepala Laboratorium Komputer Teknik Mesin Universitas Brawijaya. Periode 2012-2015, Dr. Eng. Moch. Agus Choiron diangkat kembali menjadi Kepala Studio Perancangan dan Rekayasa Sistem, dilanjutkan pada periode 2015-2020 dan 2020-2025.
