Driven by poverty and desperation in the 60’s, Chinese couple Josefina and Chua Bun Hiock started mending their neighbors’ clothes in Soler, Manila. Their perseverance to explore entrepreneurial avenues and provide for their growing family gave birth to the brand that every Filipina knows today. In the succeeding decades, the brand has survived because of its unique understanding of the Filipino market. A brand that has began and flourished with the Philippine economy, rode with the ups and downs of cultural development, but maintained the values and standards that most Filipinos cherish.
