Description
The Australian Society of Building Consultants (NSW Chapter) was inaugurated in 1992, following a meeting of a small number of dedicated senior building consultants.
The founding members were a dedicated group who believed that the Building Consultant profession needed an organisation independent of the established building industry entities, where consultancy related topics could be discussed with specialists from their respective fields of expertise. Incorporated in 1993 and now in its 30th year, ASBC NSW membership has grown to over 60 dedicated building consultant professionals and specialists.
Accredited ASBC Members regularly provide professional consulting services in a range of areas of expertise to Property Owners, Property Managers, Builders/Contractors, Strata Groups, the Legal Profession and as independent Court Appointed Experts. Members are located throughout NSW.
Areas of expertise include General Building Consultancy, Pre-Purchase and Pest Inspections, Litigation Support, Strata Inspection and Dispute Resolution. Specialist Building Consultants are ASBC accredited to offer expertise in a specific area such as Pool Certification, Waterproofing or BASIX consultancy.
The ASBC is the only registered independent professional Building Consultant organisation in NSW. Membership is based on strict criteria. Building consultants and specialists can apply for accreditation in a particular area or areas of expertise; this accreditation is reviewed annually by the Executive Committee.
