The ARC Research Hub for Molecular Biosensors at Point-of-Use (MOBIUS) is a university-industry collaboration designed to accelerate the growth of Australia’s biosensing industry.

Our partnered programme spans the entire sensor lifecycle—from fundamental research to commercialisation. We are advancing innovative materials, molecules, and detection modalities, with a focus on both performance and manufacturability.

By bridging research and industry, we provide an end-to-end development solution for sensor technologies across key sectors, including healthcare, food and beverages, defence and biosecurity, agriculture, and environmental monitoring.

Beyond technology, we are building a talent pipeline, equipping the next generation of researchers and industry leaders with future-facing skills to drive Australia’s biosensing field forward.

MOBIUS is funded through the Australian Research Council’s Industrial Transformation Research Program.
