Welcome to Young Metallurgists, a dynamic student-led initiative dedicated to promoting the field of metallurgy and supporting the next generation of metallurgical engineers. Founded in 2022 by a group of passionate students, YM aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world industry experience.
🚀 Our Mission: At Young Metallurgists, we strive to increase awareness of metallurgy’s crucial role in addressing global challenges such as sustainable energy, global warming, decarbonisation, and ore reserves/metal supplies. We are committed to inspiring more students to pursue careers in metallurgy and to providing current students with opportunities to enhance their university education through industry collaboration.
🏆 Our Achievements: With the support of industry leaders like Glencore and Pyrosearch UQ, YM has grown from a small Facebook page to a thriving community of 116 members and 366 LinkedIn followers.
