In South Africa where the Kalahari Goats originate the name Yanda means “Expand, Grow, Prosper”.
It is also of Xhosa origin which means “Growth, Increase, Expansion”.
Cobar is where the tough goats come from, born and bred in the wild in very tough conditions year after year.
Only the strongest and toughest nannies that have survived the wild are used in our breeding programme.
We also breed Sheepmaster sheep https://www.sheepmaster.com.au/ and have purebred ewes for sale.

Purebred Kalahari Goats have excellent mothering abilities. In South Africa & Australia natural selection is made strongly in favour of these attributes because offspring that are properly cared for by their mothers will do likewise for their own progeny. Through the years of native selection processes, only the fittest Kalahari Goats mothers have survived.
Purebred Kalahari Goat does are fertile and produce plenty of milk, & as a result, the offspring grow fast and outpace others. Newborn offspring are strong and have a strong urge to suck. They breed all year round & will drop three times every two years.
Kalahari Goats can be used to give Australian rangeland goats a uniform, solid red colour, Their earthy colour provides a great camouflage that hides them from predators on the lookout for a feed.
