In 1997, Dr. Jane Aronson, a renowned pediatrician and adoption medicine specialist founded Worldwide Orphans (WWO) in New Jersey, USA from the perspective of a scientist, and pediatrician, remain the foundation of our current programs. Over the last 26 years, WWO has served over 200,000 children and caregivers and has teams in Bulgaria, Ethiopia, Haiti, Ukraine, Vietnam, and the US. We remain dedicated to supporting the healing, education, and empowerment of children in vulnerable communities.
In 2022 WWO served more than 15,000 underserved children, caregivers and teachers in Bulgaria, Ethiopia, Haiti, Ukraine, the U.S., and Vietnam through our Element of Play, Positive Youth Development, and Camp programs.
Our Mission WWO's mission is to educate, heal, and empower children, by embedding trauma-informed, play-based programs in vulnerable communities that lack access to early childhood and positive youth development programming.

WWO IN VIETNAM Since 2004 WWO established presence in the country and is now in the top 3% of government ranking of Non-profit Organizations. We are in partnership with 32 institutions and schools in 11 cities and provinces of Vietnam via the leadership of PACCOM and the provincial People’s Committees. Our programs in Vietnam have grown thoughtfully and substantially in the past two decades, serving more than 40,000 children and adults in Vietnam’s most challenged and hard-to-reach communities. While our work has been comprehensive, there is still much more to be done.
