Description

Women's International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA) New Zealand is a non-profit organization. The New Zealand branch was incorporated in 2014 following positive consultation with women in the industry, and began in Auckland. A chapter in Tauranga was launched in late 2019, with a third chapter in Wellington in May 2021 and now Christchurch which launched in Feb 2023!

We are focused on providing support and networking opportunities for women working in the maritime, transportation and related trading industries in New Zealand, and raising the profile of the industry as a positive career choice for women. Our members, sponsors and supporters are drawn from a wide range of organisations including ports, shipping line operators, freight forwarders, logistics companies, importers and exporters, seafarers, maritime lawyers, maritime and logistics academics, marine insurers and recruiters into the maritime industry.
