Description

Sustainable House Project is a student-led multidisciplinary initiative at Western Sydney University. The project is dedicated to fostering a restorative and healthy coexistence with nature. The project emphasizes positive health, well-being, and sustainability through innovative design, renewable energy technologies, smart systems, and native landscaping. Currently, we are focusing on use of digital twin and IOT technology to build a digital replica of the house where various sustainability index could be measured.

We are a not-for-profit organization consisting of students across various disciplines collaborating to advance the project. After successful development of a physical model of the house at Kingswood Campus, our vision is to integrate digital twin and IOT technologies to foster innovative sustainable solutions. Each year, a new team is formed to achieve goals leading towards the defined long-term vision. The 2025 team spans across students from engineering and project management disciplines alongside academics from diverse fields, including Engineering, Industrial Design, IT, Built Environment, Architecture, and Media. This project offers a platform for innovation, hands-on experience, and real-world industry exposure with engagement in self-directed learning and real-life industry alike diverse team environment.

The project team is open to anyone who is passionate about sustainability, digital twins, construction. and is looking forward to connect or collaborate. We are open to external research groups and industry partners both in Australia and internationally.
