Description
WHRN was formed in 2013 to strengthen emerging health research partnerships across western NSW. It is an established network for health research conducted in western and far western NSW and is a collaboration between Universities, Local Health Districts, Primary Health Care Providers, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations, and non-government organisations.
Since 2013 WHRN has hosted seven annual face to face Research Symposia to showcase the high quality research undertaken in western and far western NSW. These were attended by hundreds of researchers and clinicians working in rural health across NSW. In 2020 the Research Symposium was transformed into a series of online monthly webinars with over 570 individual attendances across the series.
WHRN supports regular research networking opportunities in Dubbo, Bathurst, and Orange, as well as virtually across Western NSW. WHRN publishes regular newsletters to over 480 subscribers to ensure members are informed about the latest rural health research news and events.
