Meet Our Founder - Marjorie Tenchavez With 13+ years in community development, Marjorie brings expertise in social impact initiatives, diversity and inclusion, stakeholder management, and community engagement. Her background spans local government, NGOs, and private sector.
Before launching Welcome Merchant in 2020, Marjorie worked in research, policy, and casework. She now leads volunteers specialising in digital marketing, graphic design, events support, and grants writing.
Marjorie's achievements include: 2024 Sydney Awards finalist (Unsung Hero Category), Melbourne Asia Gamechangers Award finalist (Arts + Culture), 2023 NSW Humanitarian Award recipient, "Social Entrepreneur of the Year" by Third Sector Media, and Community Advocacy Award at the Asian-Australian Leadership Awards.
