Our journey with Wattlecliffe Youth Services began with a realisation while working within the local NGO sector and recognising a critical need for dependable, high-quality youth staff available to agencies seeking supervision for children in crisis. We embarked on a mission to fill this gap whilst being committed to bringing focus back to supporting critical relationships for children and helping keep kids safe. Our commitment is rooted in providing a safe and nurturing environment for every child we serve, ensuring they receive the care they deserve during challenging times.
At Wattlecliffe, we specialise in:
Emergency/crisis care: Providing staff for children in alternative accommodation as required.
Contact visit supervision: Providing supervision to families so they can continue to stay connected at their family visits.
Transport: Assisting with transport of children including to contact visits, school or other appointments.
Day respite: A pre-planned respite day where the child will be able to go and spend a day doing something they enjoy (the zoo, luna park etc) and this will give the carers an 8 hour break.
Mentoring: Providing a one on one mentoring program for young people to assist with learning life skills and work on particular goals. This can include learning to shop, cook or aiding young people to set themselves up for the future by assisting with gaining photo ID, creating a resume or applying for centrelink. The mentoring program is usually for 8 weeks but can be extended if required.
We are currently based in the lower Blue Mountains and will be able to assist from Lithgow to the Western Sydney area and South West Sydney area. We are also able to assist with some Inner West and South East locations.
