Established in 2018 by Liz Scott and Glen Cadwallader, the distillery was founded with a vision to showcase New Zealand botanicals on a global stage while honouring the rich hospitality legacy of Pikau Bay.
Our location offers panoramic views across the Hauraki Gulf and Coromandel Peninsula, welcoming nearly 17,000 visitors each year to our garden bar and immersive distillery experience. The name Pikau—meaning “to take care of” in te reo Māori—reflects our commitment to stewardship. Former pastureland has been transformed into a thriving botanical garden, both a source of inspiration and a foundation for our bespoke blends.
Today, we craft a refined portfolio of gins and botanical vodkas that combine innovation, sustainability, and a strong sense of place.
