Institute for Vietnam Initiatives (IVI) specializes in research, consulting, and training. Regarding research and consulting, IVI regularly conducts policy analysis at the request of policy-making agencies in Vietnam. These agencies include ministerial-level agencies such as the Government Office, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Quang Ninh province; and foreign bodies such as the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) such as the World Bank, Oxfam, and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
In terms of training, IVI has programs to foster and improve the capacity of potential cadres to prepare for leadership positions in Vietnam. The Vietnam Leads project is an ongoing project of IVI in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Indiana University, and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Our latest project is Partnership for Higher Education Reform (PHER), which features partners such as the Vietnam National University Hanoi, Vietnam National University HCMC, Danang University, Indiana University, and USAID.
