The Research Institute for Innovation and Development (IID) positions itself as a non-profit, tech-based and data-based globally connected ecosystem builder in the field of promoting innovation and sustainable development for impact with a vision of mainstreaming social innovation in Vietnam. IID was founded because we recognized Vietnam has been lacking access and opportunities to three crucial resources:
1. Human capital 2. Market access 3. Ecosystem support
IID’s approach to intervention includes supplying knowledge, resources and opportunities to mobilize the SIB ecosystem in Vietnam. IID does this by facilitating free online tech-based solutions to ENACT, ENHANCE & EMPOWER.
Our three pillars focus on research, capacity building and development. Through these three pillars we have created three products:
1. impactUP - a pioneering online training and incubation platform in the field of startups and social innovation in Vietnam. impactUP's services are focused on global citizenship, social entrepreneurship and youth innovation. (impactup.site)
2. iMap - a user-interactive digital map of Vietnam's social impact business sector, including social enterprises, impact businesses, supporting organizations, with the goal of connecting responsible business activities to the market. (imapvietnam.org)
3. V.innovate - a platform specializing in evaluating and ranking universities, colleges and cities on innovation, business startup and impact in Vietnam. We have created a set of criteria that is free, secure, and open to everyone to use with 3 assessment tools: U.innovate; U. impact; P.innovate
