Description
The Postgraduate Students' Association provides support and opportunities to all Victoria University students 400-level and above. The PGSA is the representative body of postgraduate students, and we conduct advocacy and lobbying on behalf of the wider student body.
The PGSA provides opportunities to postgraduate students for professional development and leadership. We have representatives on every board and committee in the university, and through these representatives the postgraduate voice is expressed. We also have ongoing opportunities available to assist us with organising events, or presenting at our conference-style Research Roundtables.
The PGSA also runs a full calendar of community events, designed to meet the needs of busy postgraduate students. These events, like all PGSA endeavours, are run by an Executive Board of twelve student volunteers. The calendar includes a range of events, including monthly standing dates for breakfasts and afternoon teas; an annual charity Quiz Night; communal wiring workshops; a multi-round 3 Minute Thesis Competition; and an annual Awards Ceremony.
