Công ty Cổ phần Đầu tư và Công nghệ Vela (Velacorp) tiền thân là Quỹ Đầu tư Vela được thành lập vào ngày 15 tháng 08 năm 2016, lấy cảm hứng từ hình ảnh hệ thống tên lửa đẩy “Vehicle Launch” – hệ thống tên lửa tạo lực đẩy tốt nhất, nhanh nhất và mạnh nhất, giúp các phi thuyền bay lên chinh phục không gian. Velacorp được thành lập dưới mô hình quỹ đầu tư vào các dự án startup, mang theo “khát vọng không ngừng” của đội ngũ sáng lập, dùng công nghệ thông tin làm bệ phóng giúp các startup Việt Nam phát triển.
Năm 2018, Vela chuyển mình thay đổi định hướng, quyết định chuyển đổi mô hình từ một quỹ đầu tư sang định hướng trở thành công ty công nghệ, lấy tên là Công ty Cổ phần Đầu tư và Công nghệ Vela.
Năm 2020, thành lập công ty Cổ phần Thương mại và Dịch vụ Công nghệ Velacorp với các công ty thành viên trực thuộc gồm: Shippo, Ezbiz, Gobiz - Hệ sinh thái cung cấp các dịch vụ hậu cần thương mại điện tử xuyên biên giới.
