Description
The University of Waikato Adams Centre for High Performance (Adams Centre) is New Zealand’s newest high performance training facility. It provides a world class environment that will contribute to Tauranga City becoming recognised as a Centre of Excellence for high performance sport by growing, attracting and retaining more high performance athletes in Tauranga.
The Centre opened in April 2016, thanks to innovative thinking and collaboration between Tauranga City Council, Bay Venues and the University of Waikato.
Our Facility The Adams Centre contains all the essential elements required to service elite athletes and prepare them for competition on the world stage including a 650m2 gym, sports science laboratory complete with environmental chamber, recovery pools, team lecture rooms, athletes lounge and kitchen, and a full suite of sports treatment services including physiotherapy, massage and podiatry.
