Berdasarkan Surat Keputusan Menteri Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi Republik Indonesia Nomor 732/KPT/I/2018 tanggal 3 September 2018 yang menyatakan ijin penyatuan dan perubahan bentuk 21 Perguruan Tinggi Swasta menjadi Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (Universitas BSI) yang berlokasi di Jakarta dan diselenggarakan oleh Yayasan Bina Sarana Informatika berupa pengelolaan 9 (sembilan) Program Studi di Kampus Utama dan 35 (tiga puluh lima) Program Studi Diluar Kampus Utama (PSDKU). Pelaksanaan Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi Universitas BSI melalui 3 (tiga) Fakultas, yaitu: Fakultas Teknik dan Informatika, Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis dan Fakultas Komunikasi dan Bahasa. Hingga tahun 2023 Universitas BSI telah melakukan pengelolaan program studi sebanyak 44 (empat puluh empat) yang tersebar di kampus utama dan di luar kampus utama. Universitas BSI Kampus Kota Pontianak memiliki 3 Program Studi Unggulan yakni Sistem Informasi Kampus Kota Pontianak, Informatika Kampus Kota Pontianak dan Sistem Informasi Akuntansi Kampus Kota Pontianak
