Description
KALIMANTAN originated from a Kalimantan children's community under the auspices of the Telkom Education Foundation (YPT) in 2008 which was formed separately, namely the West Kalimantan Student Community, East Kalimantan Students, and South-Central Kalimantan Students (Kalsel-Teng).
In early 2010 the heads or leaders of each of these communities had the idea that these communities should be united in order to create a broader relationship and foster a sense of unity among Kalimantan students.
This merger resulted in the name Telkom Borneo Community (KOMBOTEL). The initial chairman of KOMBOTEL was Ardi Kurniawan, an undergraduate student of Electrical Engineering class of 2008 as well as other positions under him such as Deputy Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and others.
Right on February 20, 2014 at 00.02 WIB, the community which was originally called KOMBOTEL officially became an official UKM under the auspices of Telkom University under the name KALIMANTAN. It is hoped that in the future, KALIMANTAN can run in accordance with the objectives and vision and mission that have been made, namely as a suitable place for students (i) from Kalimantan to create a strong sense of kinship and build friendship within the Telkom University community.
