Lex ACT aims to inculcate activism, community service and making a difference in society by spreading awareness and highlighting the positive change in society among students.
Lex ACT stands for, in simple words, “legal activism”. We aim to instil legal elements into each theme and projects held while still maintaining the format of activism and student volunteerism. The word “ACT” is derived from the first three letters of “activism” whereby 3 core elements have been identified to set the direction of this programme:
1. A – ACTIVISM: The students of the faculty will be introduced to activism and student volunteerism through our array of events and gain interpersonal and soft skills along the way.
2. C – CHANGE: It is in our hopes and goals that with the effort made through our project, a positive change is able to be made in our community that will leave a lasting impact to society.
3. T – TRUST: One of the core activities planned include establishing a partnership with organisations involved to create a bond system between students of the faculty and individuals or target group involved to further strengthen the communication between these two parties.
