Description
Forum for scientific studies atau disingkat FORCES merupakan Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) yang bergerak dalam bidang kepenulisan dan keilmiahan di kampus Institut Pertanian Bogor. Forces didirikan atas dasar keresahan mahasiswa IPB yang ingin menyalurkan kegiatan kepenulisan melalui sebuah wadah yaitu UKM. Founder atau pendiri FORCES yaitu Bapak Anuraga Jayanegara, sekarang menjadi pembina UKM FORCES IPB.
Awal tahun 2004, tepatnya tanggal 12 Januari UKM Forces resmi didirikan. Terhitung hingga pertengahan tahun 2021, sudah ada sekitar 18 angkatan di Forces. Ada beberapa point penting yang menjadi tujuan didirikannya organisasi ini, diantaranya:
1. Menjadikan mahasiswa Institut Pertanian Bogor sebagai center of excellent dengan memegang supremasi keilmuan di bidangnya serta bermanfaat bagi masyarakat luas 2. Menampung, menyalurkan, serta mengembangkan minat dan bakat mahasiswa Institut Pertanian Bogor di bidang keilmiahan 3. Membentuk pribadi mahasiswa Institut Pertanian Bogor yang integral dan prestatif dengan menyelaraskan potensi fisik, akal, dan rohani 4. Mengikat hubungan yang selaras dan harmonis antar mahasiswa Institut Pertanian Bogor secara transdepartemen.
Keanggotaan UKM Forces berasal dari mahasiswa aktif IPB yang terdaftar dan lolos menjadi anggota Forces IPB. Perekrutan terbuka unuk mahasiswa Vokasi dan S1.
Berbagai macam prestasi ditorehkan baik dari UKM Forces, Pembina dan Anggota Forces.
UKM Forces sendiri, mendapatkan penghargaan :
1. Juara 1 Penalaran Competition di acara ILP2MI (Ikatan Lembaga Penelitian dan Penalaran Mahasiswa Indonesia ) 2018 2. Juara 2 UKM Tersehat IPB 2019 3. Juara 3 UKM tersehat IPB 2018 4. Juara 1 UKM Tersehat IPB 2017 5. Juara 1 Program Kerja Terfavorit 2017, yaitu PIMPI 2017 6. Juara Terfavorit COMDEV Award di Acara EXIST FAIR 2017 UKM Riset dan Penalaran EXIST, Universitas Jambi 7. Best of The Best di Neuron Award MITI KM 2016 dalam Tirtayasa Research Competition and Festival
