Nothing should get in the way of normalising the lives of ostomates globally.
The idea for U-CAN started late 2019 when Steve Sterling underwent colon cancer treatment, which led to him living with a temporary Ileostomy for 6 months.
Steve’s experience with the management of his stoma and the pouch emptying process led him to believe there had to be a better way.
With his background as a physiotherapist and a passion for disruption Steve set about creating his own solutions to make his life easier and more “normal”.
Things really stepped up a gear when Steve became a resident at CERI (Centre for Entrepreneurial Research & Innovation) and he started working with Rod Houston (Former CEO in residence at CERI).
Rod and Steve are now partners in the business with a vision to normalise the lives of ostomates globally.
