Since 1996, The TYLA Youth Development Trust (TYLA) has been empowering disadvantaged, vulnerable, and at-risk tamariki (children) and rangatahi to make positive choices – and turn their lives around.
In partnership with New Zealand Police, Oranga Tamariki we identify rangatahi displaying risk factors that indicate they are likely to offend in the future.
Operating in South and Central West Auckland, with spaces in Ōtara and Avondale, TYLA delivers early intervention, long-term social work and case management together with powerful therapeutic-based mentoring.
Our individual and goals-based programmes reach tamariki and rangatahi that otherwise slip through the cracks. In doing so, we help ‘break the cycle’ of youth offending in Aotearoa.
