Description
Two Blokes “Adventure for funD” was formed in August 2013 with the vision of raising awareness and funding for charities and organisations that Darren and Matt are passionate about and closely connected.
In December 1996 at the age of thirteen Darren was diagnosed with cancer in his right leg. Following chemotherapy and operations his leg became severely infected and over three years Darren would be in and out of hospital undergoing various surgeries and treatments. At the age of 16 in December 1999 Darren made the decision for doctors to amputate his right leg below the knee.
In late 2012 Matt also had a close call with a serious health scare and spent time in and out of hospital before being diagnosed with pancreatitis. In three weeks, he lost over 20% of his body weight.
Once people experience significant events such as Darren and Matt have, this has an significant effect of sharpening ones focus on what is important in life and what you are capable of when you put your mind to it.
Since their inception Two Blokes “Adventure for funD” have stayed true to their goal raising over $100,000 for charity. Their adventures have seen them raise funding and awareness for several charities and events including the Steven Walter Children’s Cancer Foundation, The Cancer Council, Black Dog Ride and Movember.
