Our genetics allow farmers in tropical climates around the world to breed superior dairy cows in one generation, that not only withstand the challenges of heat and humidity but thrive in it. As climate change takes hold around the world and average temperatures rise, farmers need to find solutions to improving production efficiency in the Tropics to meet the growing demand for meat and milk, and to reduce methane output per unit of product. Tropical Resilience Genetics has solutions that match this growing farmer need.
We own the world’s most complete Homozygous Slick Sire Teams and operate a dairy breeding nucleus of Slick animals (Holstein and Jersey) plus access top Beef breeders for qualified top SLICK beef genetics. We are headquartered in the Waikato, New Zealand – one of the world’s leading dairying regions with a high health status.
Cows with the SLICK gene not only tolerate the stresses of tropical climates, they thrive: - They grow faster and calve earlier with significant cost savings to first calving
- They produce, on average, 3-4 litres/day more milk than non-SLICK herdmates
- They are more efficient in utilisation of both feed and water
