Description
The Totally & Permanently Incapacitated Ex-Servicemen & Women’s Association of Victoria Incorporated (TPI Victoria Inc.) was formed in 1926 following meetings by a small group of TPI’s who came together to try to ensure that all ex-servicemen and women could be supported and taken care of after being wounded or sustaining injuries by having served with the Australian Armed Services.
Today, TPI Victoria Inc. continues to be a solid member-based association that represents it members across a range of fronts. Through Advocacy, it continues its core work in ensuring its member’s voices are heard and their rights and entitlements are protected and not eroded.
Through Welfare, ensuring their families and their dependent’s welfare is at the foremost front of mind and supported unconditionally. And through Connection, in keeping members and their families connected and supported across the community.
The association has been fortunate to have good community support for the past nearly 100 years. It has worked hard to form strong relationships and partnerships with both the Commonwealth and State Governments along with businesses, individuals, the public, and the community and whilst the demographic of its members has changed, its core activities of Advocacy, Welfare & Connection remain the same in supporting its members.
With an ongoing membership base of between 3,500 and 4,000 across the state and around the country, the association continues with its vision and purpose to ensure our ex-service personal are supported, respected, and not forgotten, often long after their service to our nation.
The need for TPI Victoria Inc. is as important today as it has been for the last nearly 100 years, and it is only through its membership and community support that it can continue in its effort to support and help its members, their families and their dependent’s now, and into the future.
