Description
Touch Sala Bai (TSB) is a Singapore-based society and US non-profit organization, whose mission is to fight poverty and human trafficking through education and employment in hospitality. In pursuit of its mission, TSB exclusively supports the Sala Bai Hotel School of Siem Reap, Cambodia with funding, partnerships and expertise. Sala Bai is a model solution to alleviating poverty and its consequences. In 18 years, the School has graduated more than 1600 students (70% women, aged 17-23) from its free, 11-month training program and secured 100% employment at minimum 3 times previous annual household incomes. In 2014, Sala Bai broke ground on its new school, and training hotel and restaurant in Siem Reap. Completed in November 2015, the new school increased student intake by 50% to 150 annually, while increasing sustainability to 50% of operating expenses through revenues earned by the training hotel and restaurant, and alumni association.
