Our mission is to provide the best holistic healthcare and social services to all New Zealanders in our communities, particularly the Tongan people.
Langimalie is at the heart of how we deliver our services. It’s an integrated model that focuses on the connections between relationships, environment, family, and community.
Our model of care requires a high degree of collaboration and communication among healthcare professionals, including clinical and non-clinical (social workers, youth, elderly and Pacific navigators).
Services include primary health care, Pacific outreach services, preschool, programmes for the elderly, social enterprise initiatives and clinical teaching.
We operate four Langimalie Family Health Centres across Auckland: an Integrated Outcomes Unit, the Langimalie Research Centre, which focuses on health outcomes for all Pasifika people, the Langimalie Community and Garden Centre, and Ako Langimalie Preschool. THS also runs 8 school clinics in South Auckland.
Tongan Health is the only primary care provider in New Zealand with a dedicated research facility.
Our clinics have Cornerstone accreditation from the Royal College of General Practitioners for GPs in New Zealand, and our Integrated Outcomes Unit has achieved MSD accreditation. We also have Royal NZ College of GP and the University of Auckland Teaching Accreditation.
Tongan Health is a top-performing primary care centre with a holistic view of our patients' lives. In the 2020 NZ Primary Care Awards, Tongan Health was named the top medical centres in NZ.
