Tomorrow Today works to build strength and resilience in Benalla and district with a focus on improving outcomes for children and young people.
Tomorrow Today is Benalla district’s community foundation in north east Victoria, formed and governed by local people for local benefit. Our Community Fund is an enduring resource established to meet changing community needs. Donations to the Community Fund are pooled and invested. Income from the Fund is used to provide local grants in line with our purpose.
Benalla has a high level of disadvantage. In response, Tomorrow Today initiated and leads a unique, long-term, whole of community program to improve child development and educational outcomes for Benalla’s young people - to break the cycle of disadvantage. Our trailblazing Education Benalla Program engages children, their families and the community in many different activities to achieve the long term goal that education completion rates for Benalla’s young people will equal or exceed the Victorian average. We are on track to achieve this extraordinarily ambitious target.
Cross-sector collaboration is central to our approach. Currently over 140 public, private and community organisations work with us on projects and activities that span the learning environments of families, schools and community.
Benalla is now recognised as a leading national example of community-led, place based change.
