Description

The Leader established in 2012 as an organization to facilitate collaborative learning amongst young people concerned about current social and peace building issues in Aceh, Indonesia, and to develop their creativity, promote initiative and increase self-confidence for actively contributing to their society.

Considering Aceh had over 20 years of prolonged armed conflict followed by the Great Indian Ocean Tsunami of 2004, we believed this organisation needed to develop and prepare young people in Aceh to become progressive and optimistic leaders for the future. To date, we have successfully trained, worked, and brought a significant influence to more than 5,000 young people across all of Indonesia.

The Leader’s ambition was to empower youth to actualize their full potential and live up to their dreams right after the catastrophes were over. We do not want to be remembered as victims but resourceful survivors.
