The Lansdowne Club is Australia’s premier Irish networking club for professionals with a deep connection to Ireland.
Our purpose is to provide opportunities for individuals in Australia with a deep connection to Ireland to come together, build meaningful relationships, and expand their professional networks.
The Lansdowne Club was founded in 1986 by a group of Irish-born business professionals and has since grown into Australia’s premier Irish networking organisation. Today, many of our members hold senior positions across leading Australian corporations and industries. For nearly 40 years, through iconic events like the St Patrick’s Day Lunch and other exclusive networking opportunities, we have united Irish and Australian leaders across business, politics, sport, and the arts, strengthening Irish-Australian cultural, political, and economic ties.
In 1999, to honour our shared heritage and passion for rugby, the club commissioned a trophy, the Lansdowne Cup, crafted by Waterford Crystal. The cup, which symbolizes the competitive rivalry between the two nations, has been won by Australia on eight occasions, while Ireland are the current holders, and have won the Cup seven times.
The Lansdowne Club organises a variety of events aimed at fostering professional and social connections among individuals with a strong Irish connection. In addition to the iconic St.Patrick’s Day lunch, the club hosts a members night, monthly networking drinks, and educational “Pat Chats” It also sponsors and supports other Irish community events, such as the Global 5K and the Irish Film Festival.
