The Lakes is one of Australia's pre-eminent private clubs and one of the leading major tournament venues in Australia having recently hosted the 2010, 2011 and 2012 Men's Australian Opens. The club has also been announced as the host venue of the 2018 Australian Open. The golf course provides the golfer with a unique opportunity to play one of Australia's most famous layouts in a serene environment on outstandingly presented playing surfaces.
Fine dining restaurant, unique wine selection, 280 metre driving range, state-of-the-art teaching facility, comprehensive short-game facility, GPS motorised cart fleet, spa and sauna, complimentary lockers, complimentary pull buggies and one of Australia’s most recognised golf courses are all provided to members only 15 minutes from the CBD of Sydney. This first class array of facilities provided in a friendly, relaxed, inclusive and highly social environment.
The extraordinary layout of The Lakes is one of the most memorable golfing experiences in Australia. The four Par 5’s including the famous water carry on the 14th hole provide a challenging test for every golfer. The hosting of the Australian Open in three consecutive years has resulted in international acclaim for the highest level of presentation. With the entire course built on the Sydney Sandbelt the golf course is regarded as one of the best wet weather courses in the region. The final nine holes borders the Botany Aquifer and wetlands area, with an abundance of wild life, scenic views and a range of tempting golf shots.
