Description
The Kindness Institute's vision is for every young person in Aotearoa to have the tools to overcome challenges, improve their wellbeing and live a meaningful life.
TKI is a kaupapa Māori-aligned, rangatahi (youth/young adult)-led youth mental health organisation that exists to empower marginalised communities in Aotearoa, to support wellbeing, through movement, mindfulness, community and leadership. The organisation was founded in 2016 in response to Aotearoa’s growing youth mental health crises.
AT TKI we strive to create equity in wellbeing through our mahi (work) that is financially accessible, is grounded in te ao Māori and focuses on extensive, long-lasting change within the communities we serve. Our programmes are guided by Te Whare Tapa Whā health framework and delivered through the Tuku Iho (training the trainer) model of passing on knowledge.
