The Hopkins Centre Research for Rehabilitation and Resilience
A joint initiative of the Menzies Health Institute of Qld, Griffith University and the Division of Rehabilitation, Metro South Health and Hospital Service in partnership with the Motor Accident Insurance Commission, Spinal Life Australia, Synapse, and Health Consumers Queensland.
The Hopkins Centre is committed to improving disability and rehabilitation practices, service delivery and systems by developing, translating and implementing interdisciplinary research evidence about real world problems.
The Centre focuses on research of relevance to people living with the long-term consequences of acquired brain injury, amputation, persistent pain, and spinal cord injury as well as developmental, age-related and other life-long disabling conditions.
The Centre is located at Griffith University, Logan campus and Princess Alexandra Hospital, Metro Health South. It brings together clinicians, policy makers, academics and consumers to facilitate opportunities for research exchange and excellence.
The Centre is ideally positioned to lead translation of research into policy and clinical practice through these collaborations. Research is generated at the interface with end-users rather than in isolation. Solutions are immediately relevant to practitioners, policy makers and consumers.
By creating an environment for sustainable collaborations and partnerships, we will expand research potential and impact in Queensland and beyond.
