The Compass Award is an experiential learning program for young people aged 9 to 18+ across Australia. It provides a clear, structured way to explore interests and challenges across four areas: Health, Skills, Citizenship and Exploration.
Why Compass matters: Through self-directed activity and reflection, participants develop confidence, persistence and wellbeing. They strengthen engagement in extracurricular and co-curricular programs such as service learning, outdoor education, clubs, sport, music and language, while building a genuine sense of belonging in their communities.
How Compass works: The program is flexible and inclusive, offered through parents, schools, and community organisations. It is well suited to home-educating families and to schools with limited capacity, ensuring every young person can access growth opportunities regardless of circumstance.
