The Boss Boxing was born out of an identified need from within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Zillmere and surrounding suburbs for the need for a culturally safe space which allowed for meaningful connection, inclusivity and mentoring. Founder and Head Coach Sammy Leone, a former Australian Institute of Sport Scholarship holder and Australian Indigenous Boxing Champion, saw the opportunity to create positive change through the transaction of culture and connection through his sport of boxing. Boss Boxing provides benefits to participants far greater than just physical activity.
