This is vital for the Australian economy and will enhance Australia’s role in international efforts to achieve net-zero emissions using new Australian scientific discoveries and emerging technologies.
Expected outcomes of CSI will be new knowledge and technology innovations that drive the growth of energy, environmental, and green chemical industries by utilising abundant sunlight, seawater, and waste feedstocks. This should provide significant benefits to the Australian and global economy and help make Australian energy and chemicals sectors competitive and globally resilient to disruptions of supply chains of critical materials. Our new world-leading capacity will train a next generation of game changers to empower emerging carbon industries to solve grand socio-economic challenges, ultimately meeting zero-carbon emissions targets.
