新加坡潮州八邑会馆于1929年成立，在册会员6000余名，来自各行各业，包括各界社会贤达，是新加坡宗乡社团中会员人数最多的会馆，也是代表新加坡70万潮人的最高组织。

八邑会馆是潮州方言族群的地缘性会馆。“八邑”指过去属潮州府的八个县，即潮安、揭阳、澄海、潮阳、普宁、惠来、饶平和南澳。

坐落于登路的潮州大厦这座具有历史意义的建筑物，潮州八邑会馆属下设文教、会员、国内外事务、青年、潮女、商业投资和公益等功能组别，并通过各种社会、经济和教育渠道，积极推广潮州文化和潮州人的认同感。

潮州人占新加坡华人人口的20%，对新加坡各方面的发展起着深远的影响。著名先驱人物，如会馆的创始人林义顺等都对新加坡经济发展做出巨大的贡献。他们是成功商人，也是备受敬仰的社区领袖。

Founded in 1929, the Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan (TPIHK) is the largest Chinese clan association, representing some 700,000 Teochew people in Singapore. “Poit Ip” refers to the eight Teochew districts in Guangdong, China. “Huay Kuan” means "clan association". TPIHK has a membership strength of more than 6,000 local Teochews from all walks of life and include prominent figures in both the private and public sectors.

Located at the historic Teochew Building along Tank Road, TPIHK set up seven (7) functional committees, namely the Culture and Education, Membership, Local and International Affairs, Youth, Ladies, Business Investments and Charities Committees to actively promote Teochew culture and identity through various social, economic, and educational channels.

Comprising 20% of Singapore’s Chinese population, the Teochews in Singapore have had a profound influence in the development of Singapore. Prominent pioneers such as Mr Lim Nee Soon, founder of the TPIHK were instrumental in the country’s early economic growth. They were merchants by trade and also well-respected leaders with the community.
