The Tamar Valley is Tasmania’s oldest wine-growing area, and a place where superb cool-climate wines have become a major attraction to locals and tourists alike. The Tamar Valley Wine Centre is a premium destination in Northern Tasmania centrally located on the Tamar Valley Wine Route in Exeter. It is only an easy 20 minute drive north from Launceston along the West Tamar Highway. It is a friendly, family-run establishment set to give the community something back by promoting the finest wines in the region.
The Wine Centre is run like a cellar door for the Tamar with wine tastings and food, offering as many of the vineyards in the Tamar Valley as possible. The centre also promotes and sells many other craft beverages from across Tasmania. Our wide range is also sold online from our website. We encourage you to sign up as a Valley VIP and get the latest news and special discounts. The wine centre will also be a place for finding information where locals, interstate and international tourists can learn more about the vineyards and their locations. Traditionally, Exeter was a stopping post for coaches and horses to catch breath and refuel for their journey. Today the centre provides a similarly great place to relax, enjoy some wine, eat good food and charge up on fine coffee from our full kitchen in the heart of the Tamar Valley.
It is a unique and stylish venue and it features its own wine bar with indoor and outdoor seating with a rustic but contemporary ambience. Our kitchen can serve up the best of local produce as accompanying platters in the day time and gourmet pizza in the evenings on a daily basis. Wine tasting and special events are experiences one can regularly expect at the centre. There will be experts invited on a regular basis to offer their personal knowledge of their vineyards to expand the experience.
