Who are we?
Sydney Uni Taekwondo Club is a place for taekwondo practitioners, old and new, to learn new skills, embrace discipline, fitness and an appreciation of taekwondo as a sport and martial art. The martial arts club is a sports club operating under Sydney Uni Sport and Fitness and trains at Sydney Uni Sports Aquatic Centre in the University of Sydney Darlington campus. Our classes are open to both students of the university and the general public. The club regularly competes in a number of local, state and national tournaments throughout the year, with both poomsae and sparring athletes.
Our Mission
Sydney Uni Taekwondo Club aims to foster athletes who have developed the five tenets of taekwondo; courtesy (예의), integrity (염치), perserverance (인내), self-control (극기) and indomitable spirit (백절불굴). We provide all our athletes with opportunities to compete at various tournaments, broadening their horizons in the world of sports taekwondo. The elite coaching team ensures all athletes are prepared for the best possible competition experience. Furthermore, it is the Club's mission to continually expand the community we have created for our members. A community where both sporting skills and social connections that will last beyond the mats of the dojang may be developed.
