The Sustainable Nutrition Initiative® is a skilled team making evidence-based nutrition research accessible and actionable to improve the status of globally sustainable nutrition.
SNi® is part of the Riddet Institute, a Centre of Research Excellence hosted by Massey University, New Zealand.
The team of food scientists, nutrition scientists and mathematical modellers produce scientific articles on food system sustainability and provides commentary on food system sustainability research.
SNi® has also developed a modelling approach to test various scenarios for globally sustainable future food systems; the DELTA Model®.
The DELTA Model® is a global food system mass balance that uses information about current production of major food items to predict the nutrition available to the average global citizen both now and in the future.
It has been developed to help people explore this challenge themselves by manipulating the major components of the food system to see the impact on the supply of key nutrients.
