Our history spans back to the 1920s. We have been on campus through test broadcasts under the name 2UX Union Radio in 1976, through the creation of 2SER as a founding member in 1977, as well as providing studio space for both Radio Skid Row and FBi Radio.
SURG began broadcasting online in 2012 with a 4-week temporary broadcast during Verge Festival. As of 2016, SURG broadcasts 12 hours a day, 5 days a week, 26 weeks of the year from a studio in USyd's Holme Building.
