Support Better was founded to help Australians concerned with climate change and environmental sustainability make educated, ethical purchasing decisions that reduce the levels of carbon and plastic emissions in our country.

Based in Melbourne, Australia, our team has long been concerned with the effects that climate change and pollution were having on the world around us. From the melting polar ice caps and depleted ozone to endangered animals and smog-infested air, the plight of the environment has always been near and dear to our hearts.

We were inspired to act by the 2019 bushfires, which razed over 15 million acres and killed half a billion animals right in our literal and figurative backyard. In the aftermath of these terrible fires, we saw a lot of blame being passed around, from poor preparation, to back burning, to government inaction. Warranted as this blame may be, we wanted to step back and focus on something us ordinary citizens can impact directly – our purchase decisions.

Support Better was formed in order to help people support companies that are as committed to safeguarding our beautiful country as we are.

OUR OBJECTIVES Big picture, the objective of our company is to help lower carbon and plastic emissions across Australia, by promoting viable, eco-friendly alternatives to major polluters.

Here’s how we’re working to achieve this:

HELP ECO-FRIENDLY BUSINESSES The sad fact is that running an ethical, eco-friendly business is often expensive when compared to polluters, who cut costs by cutting corners.

By highlighting environmentally sound businesses and helping them connect with like-minded consumers, we aim to give a boost to the entire green economy.

PRESSURE POLLUTERS TO DO BETTER Major polluters will not change until they are given a real financial incentive to do so. Taxes and tariffs work up to a point, but avoiding high-emission products sends a much clearer message.
