St Kilda Day Hospital is committed to National Safety and Quality Health Services Standard. We are proudly accredited with Global Mark, with recent annual accreditation passed in July 2018. In addition, we confirmed our DHHS license with recent audit in June 2018.
We collect Clinical Indicators such as Transfers to hospital and patients who experience adverse event during care delivery, both of which we are pleased to say was 0%. As well as that for 2018 we had 0% of pressure injuries, 0% of healthcare-associated infections, 0% of transfers to other hospitals and 0% for falls. In addition, we successfully passed our annual Infection Control Audit conducted by HICMR in May 2018. Results were 98% compliance for Day Procedure/Surgery unit and 92% compliance in sterilizing services.
At St Kilda Day Hospital we aim to achieve high infection control compliance. All staff must complete training and certification in Hand Hygiene and annual infection control education. Our last Hand Hygiene compliance for nursing staff was 91.6% and 85% for our medical staff, which is above the National Benchmark of 80%.
