St John’s Care in Canberra aims to bridge the gap and break the cycle of disadvantage, isolation and economic hardship with compassion, advocacy, respect and encouragement through the provision of emergency relief and other programs.
St John’s Care is:
- A centre of support, care and hope for hundreds of Canberra families and people in need.
- A recognised emergency relief provider in the ACT region
- Funded primarily through donations from community and church groups, businesses and individuals
- Proudly staffed by both volunteers and professionals
- Committed to the individual needs of clients
- A parish-based Anglican organisation working in partnership with Anglicare
Hardship and setback can strike anyone—an unexpected crisis, the loss of a job, health problems, family breakdown and a number of other reasons. We are here to help and support all people in a non-judgmental manner with dignity and respect.

Our vision - St John’s Care aims to bridge the gap and break the cycle of disadvantage, isolation and economic hardship with compassion, advocacy, respect and encouragement through the provision of emergency relief and other programs.
Who we are - An outreach service by St John's Anglican Church, in partnership with Anglicare, supported by other parishes and the Canberra community. We seek to respond to human need by offering emergency relief, support and other programs to those who struggle with issues of low income and social disadvantage.
Our community - A grassroots community, staffed by both volunteers and professionals, working together to help some of the most vulnerable people in our Canberra community. We are funded primarily through donations from community and church groups, businesses and individuals.
