St. John Ambulance Malaysia—Selangor Darul Ehsan (SJAM-SDE) is a well-known organisation in Selangor state. As Malaysia's leading First Aid organisation since 1908, we have been running social and humanitarian work for the locals in need and providing services to public events in the State.
Our motto, "Pro Utilitate Hominum" – For the Service of Mankind – is a millennial-old tradition of serving the sick and the suffering. Our hardworking officers and members can be found at all sporting events, festivals, parades, and other functions, big and small. They also assist in natural disasters like floods, fires, landslides, plane crashes, etc. They are ever ready to serve, come rain or shine, any time of the year.
Since 2005, SJAM-SDE has started the trainer's programme yearly to ensure that all Areas in Selangor have a pool of qualified trainers to conduct first-aid training at division, area and even corporate levels. The trainers must resit once every three years to renew their status. We stand tall today, proud that, through our consistent implementation and enforcement of the policy, we have exactly 97 qualified trainers in the State to date.
We seek to improve workplace safety by training people in first aid and emergency response. Leading authorities, including DOSH and HRDC, recognise our training sessions and ensure our programmes meet strict standards.
