Our Story.
South East United was formed in late 2013, primarily to provide youth football development services to the broader region of south-eastern Tasmania. We also run social men’s and women’s football, a junior Under 12 program and our senior team plays in the Veto Men’s Southern Championships.
So, why do people choose to come to South East United FC? Well, it all boils down to four main reasons:
1. Our youth development program is the cornerstone of our football operations, providing the parents of talented teens with an affordable alternative to the major financial and logistical burdens that come with sending their kids to the big academies in and around the city of Hobart. As a community not-for-profit organisation, run entirely by (well-qualified) volunteers, we can keep our costs lower than anywhere else, often as low as 50% of others.
2. We built our club on the values of mateship. To our members, we are more than a football club. We are a family. We have fun together and we work hard for one another. We pride ourselves on playing football the right way, and we do it with smiles on our faces. People who come to South East United rarely want to go play anywhere else.
3. Our home at Pembroke Park, Sorell, is one of the most beautiful around. The surface is like a carpet, and is surrounded by spectacular water and mountain views. It is also part of an exciting major development plan for an ultra-modern sports complex.
4. We offer a complete pathway from junior football all the way to the pinnacle of the senior regional game. We support players to get everything they are looking for out of the game, whether they be aspiring professionals or just after a bit of fun and exercise. Our training resources and coaching is comparable with the best around.
