新加坡中国协会 (SINGAPORE CHINA ASSOCIATION) 经新加坡政府内政部社团注册局 (Registry of Societies, Ministry of Home Affairs) 批准，于2012 年11 月12日正式成立。
新加坡中国协会的宗旨是：促进新加坡中国人民友谊良好发展。促进两国民间文化，教育，人文，商贸交流，致力于中国少数名族，偏远地区的扶贫工作。
新中协会是在新加坡华社闻人，新加坡中华总商会名誉董事谢墉先生主催酝酿下，经全体同仁一起努力创建而成的。谢墉先生长期献身于新加坡中国两国人民友谊的发展，对发展新加坡中国两国民间良好关系所做出的重大贡献。
于2004年5月20日，中国人民对外友好协会会长陈昊苏在北京主持颁发了“中国人民对外友好使者”的荣誉（称号），对谢墉先生的工作和成绩予以高度肯定和赞扬。
谢墉先生与2012年5月4日，亲自带领新加坡中国协会创会成员拜访中国对外友好协会会长李小林。李会长对谢墉先生致力发展新加坡中国两国人民友谊表示感谢，同时肯定了谢墉先生在这方面工作的杰出贡献，并对新加坡中国协会对两国民间的交往所做的扎实工作和贡献感到非常欣慰和由衷的感谢。相信新加坡中国协会对两国各方面的友好活动会再创辉煌！
斯人已去，功绩长存。新加坡中国协会将承先启后，秉承谢墉先生的遗志，继续努力，让新加坡中国两同人民的友谊更上一层楼。
新加坡中国协会也在同年拜访北京市人民对外友好协会、上海市人民对外友好协会、四川人民友好协会、广西人民友好协会、内蒙古人民友好协会。新中协会将继续拜访其他省会对口协会，不遗余力促进新中人民友谊的良好发展，让新加坡中国人民心照神交，让新加坡中国人民友谊开长地久！
